best moisturizer cream winner

Best Moisturizer Chosen by the Editor for 2009

Buy Dermajuv

the best moisturizer of the yearThe Dermajuv complete rejuvenation system is an entirely new and unique approach to removing the signs of aging that haunt our faces as we age.  As far as the best moisturizer title is concerned, our editors LOVED this product.   Below we will go into some reasons why we like it so much, and also some pointers we’d like Dermajuv to consider for their next launch.

Three products are included in this system.  EACH ONE packs a ton of moisture.  You get a jar of the Original Wrinkle Smoothing cream (with matrixyl), You get a bottle of the Dynamic Age Defying Serum (with matrixyl and renovage) and you get a bottle of the Instant-effect Lifting Serum (with matrixyl and sesaflash).   That’s three products to apply, but when you start using them, you will quickly realize that this  system is unlike anything you’ve ever tried before.  The moisture is miles deeper than other products, and the wrinkles, redness, and age spots start falling off your face.

Why we like it so much?

Well, its the fantasy (or used to be just a fantasy) of every wrinkle cream user to find a cream that starts to show results very quickly.  There have been a few products out there that DID give some visible results in a day or so, but those results were only temporary.  Those kinds of products were either “lifting agents” that tightened the skin with an uncomfortable film, or they were more like a makeup, that hid the wrinkles from the eye until you washed it off.  Dermajuv however, gives instant results AND provides long term healing and benefits. It was basically everything we were looking for in a moisturizer cream.

Do they stand behind the product?

The dermajuv.com site has a 30 day guarantee, that refunds you the money if you’re unsatisifed with the product.  According to everyone we have spoken to, they have AWESOME customer service, and take care of you like no other wrinkle cream company does.  In today’s world of fast-talking hustlers who just take your money and run, Dermajuv is a breath of fresh air.

Is there testimonials and Before and After Pictures?

If you visit their website, you will see tons of real life customers’ pictures and stories.  The customers who wrote in are BOTH men and women.  Their stories are compelling, and they coincide with many of the other reviews we’ve seen for Dermajuv on other websites.  There is no doubt that in the wrinkle cream business, there is a “new sherriff in town”, and Dermajuv is it.

We at BestMoisturizer.com give Dermajuv our full recommendation, and we encourage any consumer who is looking for a complete solution to all the signs of aging to give this product a try.   With their return policy, you really don’t have anything to lose.   Come back to our site and thank us afterward.

dermapril moisturizer review

Best Moisturizer Review Score:  20/100

Well, we really tried to start off this review with an open mind.  We just hate so much these deceptive “Free offer” wrinkle creams that end up tricking consumers into having their credit card  charged on a monthly basis for a cream they thought they were getting for free.   As I said… we tried to stay unbiased.   I think we were successful in keeping an open mind when deciding if we liked Dermapril or not.

The cream comes in a pretty cool jar.. one of those airless pumps that are supposedly better at keeping the product uncompromised.  Besides that, there wasn’t much good to say about Dermapril-sp.

The cream has Matrixyl 3000 in it.  This is not the real Matrixyl, but a knockoff.  Still, it’s a copper peptide, and the use of these breakthough ingredients in wrinkle creams and moisturizers has some document proof.  The problem was, we did not see the same results as we have with other peptide based solutions.  Perhaps the cream uses such a low concentration of the Matrixl 3000 to save money, that they basically render the cream useless.

When it comes to these “Forced Autoship” wrinkle creams, we like to see how fast they respond to the cancellation, if at all.  We ordered the cream, and tried to use it and still get it returned in the 14 day trial period that you are given by them.  The fact is, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the cream and find out if it works in less than 14 days.  It just isn’t possible. So, the “Free” trial is complete BS, because at the very least, you have to pay for the first shipment, which is $69.

We submitted our cancellation of the next shipment and we have not gotten another bottle sent to us.  It appears like they followed the rules and discontinued billing us each month.  However, we really went the extra mile.. emailing, phone calls, and a verification phone call the day after.  Basically, if you’re not a person who orders wrinkle creams all the time like we do, you might end up getting hit on your credit card another time before you complete the requirements of cancelling this wrinkle cream.

I hope we’ve said enough here, to convince you that you should be cautious when ordering a wrinkle cream that does the “auto ship” like Dermapril.  Our experience with the product itself was disappointing, but that is not the major concern here.  Mainly, watch your credit card statements and make sure you are not getting drilled with a charge each month for a product you dont’ want.

Olay Regenerist Cream

best moisturizer olay regenerist

Best Moisturizer Cream Score:  34/100

Oil of olay has launched their Regenerist line, as a low priced alternative to compete with the high-end wrinkle creams and moisturizers that are currently so popular on the market.  Perhaps the timing is good, with the economy in such a slouch.  Consumers who usually would only think of using the fancy $150 creams, might now be looking for an alternative for around $20.   We thought we’d check out this cream and offer our review.

This moisturizer and wrinkle cream has a pleasant scent.. a little bit purfumy, but not bad.  I had read on some other review sites that the scent of the Regenerist cream was overpowering.  I found that claim not to be true.

The texture of the cream is pretty nice, but a little on the heavy side.  I felt that my skin had a bit of a greasy or heavy feel to it afterward.  Almost “film like” on my skin.   I do not suffer from oily skin, so usually my skin can absorb just about any cream, however this product was a bit much.   I would definately warn others to watch out for this cream if you have oily skin, as I have a feeling you are going to be unhappy with it.

The ingredients are pretty high-end.  They offer peptide based solutions as well as the standard vitamin antioxidants and moisturizing ingredients.  I believe that they keep the price low, however, by putting in a very small concentration of the ingredients that I liked.  So.. if you really want to get the full benefits of the expensive ingredients, you will STILL have to buy the expensive creams.

The overall opinion of this moisturizer slash wrinkle cream is that it is very good for a drugstore cream.  However, if you are looking for a truly high end moisturizer, with a high concentration of powerful ingredients, you’re going to have to buy one of the other creams out there, that cost over $100.  We were hopeful, but in the end, came to that conclusion.

Freeze 24-7 Moisturizer

Best Moisturizer Cream Rating:  30/100

It’s far from the best moisturizer but it is very well marketed, so I wanted to review it for you.

freeze 247 wrinkle creamFreeze 24-7 made our list, but it’s really not the best moisturizer out there. Their claim via their name seems to indicate that it works in 24 hours, but that’s not true. It is at best a decent moisturizing cream. In comparison to all the big time scam moisturizers out there though, we found this product to be acceptable.

When I applied it, I did start to immediately feel a sensation in my skin that was kind of tingly.  It made me THINK the cream was doing something because of that feeling. Of course, the tinglyness wears off, and no wrinkles are gone or even lessened.

I did start to see some minor results about 3 weeks into trying it. My wrinkles on my face and around the eyes were slightly less I think. However, I can’t tell if I was just imagining it since I wanted to see some results, or, because of that sensation the cream gives you when you put it on.

I considered a thought though… If someone has very sensitive skin, they might want to watch out for using this cream, as that initial sensation has to be caused by an ingredient that is somewhat of an irritant. My face came through it OK, but I had the sneaking suspicion that if my skin were more sensitive, I would have gotten irritated.

Although I don’t have much on the really positive to say about Freeze Moisturizer, it is a solid 30/100, which puts it above a lot of really crappy creams out there. In my opinion, however, you’d be better off going with a product from the Dermajuv Line.

Athena 7 minute Lift

athena 7 minute lift

Best Moisturizer Cream Score: 38/100

The Athena 7 minute lift is supposedly a moisturizer cream that can lift the wrinkles out of your face in 7 minutes.  Though the claim seems pretty crazy, it MUST work if they actually put “7 minutes” in their NAME.

I tried it and sat there in front of the mirror like a moron for over 10 minutes.  Nothing happened.  The only thing that happened is that I realized how silly I was to believe such a claim.   Anyway, below is the full review of this wrinkle cream, and the details of how my trial with this cream went.

What does this moisturizer do?

Well, you put it on around the eyes, as it’s recommended.  You do get a nice tingly feeling when you apply it.  It definately feels like the cream is going to start doing something.  The ingredients are very nice in this regard.  However, you’re left disappointed, as the fun stops witht he tingly feeling.

The ingredients are all natural

This is something that I liked about this moisturizer.  There are no crazy ingredients like so many wrinkle creams or moisturizers have these days.  Although the more modern ingredients work very well, I liked the fact that Athena was providing a product that was all naturual and without anything I couldn’t pronounce.

The results of the trial

I tried the athena 7 minute lift for a month.  The jar was very small when I got it, but it did last the whole month (their website said it should have lasted two months) .  I think I may have noticed a little bit of wrinkle relief, but it could have been my mind imagining it.  The skin does get some decent moisture from the cream, too.  Overall though, I don’t really recommend this moisturizer, as the results were far less than promised.

The price is fairly high for a cream of this quality.  For the $89 I paid, I would have rather gotten a different product.  My opinion is that the Athena 7 minute lift would be more fairly priced at around $20.  It would be a very good “drugstore” wrinkle cream.  However, since this website is about finding the very best of the best in the world of moisturizers and wrinkle creams,  I have to give Athena a low score.
