This perfumed body lotion is created by a long stading brand known world wide in skin care.  Lancome is not new to the skin care game and it shows with the creation of this lotion.  Created as a compliment to their popular fragrance, the Magnifique Body Lotion is not just another perfumed body lotion, its rich formula delivers deep moisture and sustaining hydration long after the product is applied. 

This body lotion is created in the “old school” fashion and does not intend to treat potential skin damage or prevent premature aging, but it will deeply hydrate your skin cells and leave your skin silky smoothe.  This body lotion is effective enough for use on severe dry skin and it will relieve dry itchy skin within seconds, however due to the perfumed nature of the body lotion it’s use is strictly for women.    

Overall

This is one of our favorite perfumed body lotions as the focus has remained on the body lotion and not just on how the popular scent has translated into a body lotion.  This product can be used for severe dry skin or just used as a daily maintence or as a nice quench after a bath.  The hydration lasts and a second application is seldom necessary throughout the day. 

Lancome Magnifique is well priced at $46.00 for 6.7 ounces and the product spreads well and lasts.  As you may have noticed, we prefer our body lotions to be able to be used by both sexes and provide high quality formulas, but we also like to see a decent value.  Lancome has found value in our book as many of the other perfumed body lotions cost significantly more and the quality of the lotion itself is far superior.   If perfumed body lotions are your thing, Magnifique begs consideration.

Estee Lauder’s reputation certainly precedes itself when it comes to skin care and with good reason.  They have been on top of the skin care industry for years and have a number of body lotions to choose from.  We chose to review the Beautiful Body Lotion as we felt it provided the best moisturizing of each of their lotions and the floral scent is lovely.

This is NOT a therapeutic body lotion, nor does it provide any sort of preventative treatment but it absorbs rapidly and it leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and silky.  This lotion is not intended for severe dry skin or harsh skin conditions, but its fragrant essence and rich texture make it a quality daily use body lotion.  Our testers enjoyed using it following a bath or after shaving legs as it replenished and softened skin rapidly.  

Overall

At bestmoisturizer.com we do not place a lot of stock in the fragrance of a body lotion, as we prefer to focus on the actual lotion and the results it provides, however Estee Lauder’s Beautiful is lovely.  The potential drawback for a body lotion like this is that it is clearly only designed for women and it is not an acceptable option for a man. 

Priced at roughly $44.00 for 8.4 ounces of Estee Lauder’s Beautiful Body Lotion is a reasonable value and will not break the bank like some of the other “luxury” body lotions out there that can sell for as much as $150 - $200 for the same amount of product.   This body lotion will deliver daily maintenance at a far more reasonable expense.

This body cream is not your average body lotion and is probably not on every consumer’s radar, however for what it specifically does it is a high quality body cream.  Heavily fragranced, this product is definitely for women only, so sorry guys once again, you are out on this one.

Bellissima is designed to inspire three moods:  attraction, romanticism and seduction.  This product is more concerned with the fragrance it delivers and the difference notes of that fragrance than they are with the actual treatment of dry skin.  As such it should not be used to treat dry itchy skin or be expected to offer any sort of therapeutic treatment.    

Overall

Blumarine Bellissima is a daily maintenance product that is great after a bath or to freshen up for that certain someone.  The thick, rich cream absorbs fairly quickly and delivers lasting moisture but its primary focus is on fragrance. 

Priced at $71.00 for 6.7 oz. of product it is a reasonable value provided that you understand what it is that you are getting.  We wish more of these so called luxury body creams were designed for both sexes.  Heavily fragranced products, both men and women’s fragrances, limit the overall range of a body lotion and make their use more costly for the average household.  A quality, rich cream that will soften and smooth your skin but not “floor you” with its results.  Overall it is an ordinary body cream that smells fantastic.

It’s hard not to include La Mer’s Body Lotion in our list of body lotions, if for no other reason, because of the price that they charge.   At prices like these we expected something spectacular, but what we got was a well balanced, medium quality body lotion.  The texture was supple and the lotion absorbed rapidly, however it did not deliver lasting moisture to the skin cells.

Designed to cushion the skin against moisture loss and relieve itchy dryness, we expected the rapid absorption; however we were surprised to feel as though we needed to “re-apply” the body lotion within hours of the initial application.  The active ingredients in this product will slightly reduce minor discoloration within the skin but do not expect significant or rapid removal of these conditions.  

Overall

To be honest, we were influenced by the prices of this product and for $140.00 for 6.7 oz. of body lotion, we simply expected more.  There is no doubt that this is a quality body lotion and we commend them for attempting to add some therapeutic properties, however it just comes up a bit short. 

Initially La Mer’s Body Lotion absorbs rapidly and leaves skin feeling soft and silky, however within hours that feeling fades and skin beings to feel dry again.  At prices like this, it gets rather costly to have to apply a product that often.  We recommend you pass on this body lotion, not because of poor quality but because of low overall value. 

Lubriderm has a wide varity of skin lotions to choose from, however we feel that this is hands down their best formula.  The combination of Shea Butter and Cocoa Butters are a step in the right direction for any body lotion.  Lubriderm advertises widely that is is the most recommended lotion of Dermatologists and with their products based on Shea Butter we certainly understand why. 

This nourishing, non-greasy formula, enriched with shea and cocoa butters, helps leave your skin feeling smooth, supple and claims to keep skin moisturized for 24 hours.  What is even better is that Lubriderm is readily accessable for consumers, and are generally perfume free so that they can be used by both sexes, a requirement for us here at bestmoisturizer.com  

Overall

We were impressed with the blend of active agents in Lubriderm’s Skin Nourishing Moisturizing Lotion, and it definately does leave the skin supple and restored.  If there was a drawback to this body lotion is that there are a few corners cut in order to achieve their price goals.  If Lubriderm wasn’t so concerned with reaching the masses they could have formulated this lotion along with some essential oils and used a thick, more luxurious base making the lotion far more enjoyable.

As far supermarket lotions go, this is top of the line, but it is still a distant follower to our top rated body lotions.  Lubriderm has the right idea, but just skimped a little on the quality in our opinion.  If you need a quick fix or are traveling and forgot your normal body lotion, then this could be a temporary fix for your situation.

Gold Bond has been known for the healing nature of its products so when they released their line of body lotions we were eager to give them a try.  As you know you can find these products at almost every local store and were were happy to find that they had a neutral scent and that both men and women could use the product. 

Designed to restore your skin’s health and hydration count, Gold Bond has created a fairly light body lotion that is easily affordable for all.  The product goes on smooth and absorbs rapidly, however the hydration does not last.  We found that within a matter of minutes the skin was dry to the touch and felt as if more product needed to be applied.  The lotion itself is rather thin, which is fine provided that the skin remained moist, however our experience was that Gold Bond Ultimate Restoring Lotion did not do that.  

Overall

Considering the price we were hopeful that Gold Bond would have created the ideal body lotion for the average consumer.  In our opinion; however, they missed the mark with the Restoring Lotion.   While even the dryest skin was able to absorb this product easily, the skin did not feel significantly softer or smooth to the touch.  Skin remains dry and rough to the touch even immediately after application.

We are always hopeful that a product priced at less than $10.00 will deliver the same results as the more costly alternatives, but at least when it comes to this product, the search remains strong.  We do not recommend that you choose this as your body lotion, it is fine in a pinch but if you are serious about the health of your skin, you should seriously continue your search and look at some of the higher quality options out there.

The Dremu Deception cream is really not a moisturizer or wrinkle cream that is designed to make your wrinkles go away.  What this product really does, is hides them temporarily.  It contains an ingredient called Emu Oil.  What this ingredient does, aside from provide moisture to the skin, is to change the way the light reflects on your skin.   Basically, it is like camoflauge for wrinkles.  It only lasts as long as you don’t wash it off.

Since our website really tries to focus on wrinkle creams or moisturizers that cure wrinkles, or at least attempt to, we can’t give Dremu a really good rating.  

What happened to our skin when we used Dremu?

We applied the Dremu and felt like we had been using a moisturizer from the drugstore, that could have cost $5.  We did see how the cream makes it harder to see the wrinkles, but the effect is quite temporary.  After using the cream for 3 weeks, we had no improvement to the look and feel of our skin that was noticeable.  Yes, we had been using a moisturizer for a few weeks at this point, so our skin felt soft, but that was about the end of it.

What are the Positives of the Cream?

The cream is priced pretty competitively.  It only costs about $50 a bottle, but you can get a discount when you buy 2.

It hides wrinkles on a temporary basis, which is like a makeup that moisturizes.

What are the Negatives?

The cream provides no long term relief from wrinkles

It has only temporary results on hiding the wrinkles

It has a greasy kind of feel to it when applied - a bit heavy, and I think applying makeup over it would be a bit messy.

Overall, we don’t recommend Dremu Deception as a daily moisturizer or something to improve your wrinkles.  At best it’s a temporary fix, and even at that, it’s not the best thing on the market.

Oil of olay has launched their Regenerist line, as a low priced alternative to compete with the high-end wrinkle creams and moisturizers that are currently so popular on the market.  Perhaps the timing is good, with the economy in such a slouch.  Consumers who usually would only think of using the fancy $150 creams, might now be looking for an alternative for around $20.   We thought we’d check out this cream and offer our review.

This moisturizer and wrinkle cream has a pleasant scent.. a little bit purfumy, but not bad.  I had read on some other review sites that the scent of the Regenerist cream was overpowering.  I found that claim not to be true.   

The texture of the cream is pretty nice, but a little on the heavy side.  I felt that my skin had a bit of a greasy or heavy feel to it afterward.  Almost “film like” on my skin.   I do not suffer from oily skin, so usually my skin can absorb just about any cream, however this product was a bit much.   I would definately warn others to watch out for this cream if you have oily skin, as I have a feeling you are going to be unhappy with it.

The ingredients are pretty high-end.  They offer peptide based solutions as well as the standard vitamin antioxidants and moisturizing ingredients.  I believe that they keep the price low, however, by putting in a very small concentration of the ingredients that I liked.  So.. if you really want to get the full benefits of the expensive ingredients, you will STILL have to buy the expensive creams.

The overall opinion of this moisturizer slash wrinkle cream is that it is very good for a drugstore cream.  However, if you are looking for a truly high end moisturizer, with a high concentration of powerful ingredients, you’re going to have to buy one of the other creams out there, that cost over $100.  We were hopeful, but in the end, came to that conclusion.

Freeze 24-7 made our list, but it’s really not the best moisturizer out there. Their claim via their name seems to indicate that it works in 24 hours, but that’s not true. It is at best a decent moisturizing cream. In comparison to all the big time scam moisturizers out there though, we found this product to be acceptable.

When I applied it, I did start to immediately feel a sensation in my skin that was kind of tingly.  It made me THINK the cream was doing something because of that feeling. Of course, the tinglyness wears off, and no wrinkles are gone or even lessened.  

I did start to see some minor results about 3 weeks into trying it. My wrinkles on my face and around the eyes were slightly less I think. However, I can’t tell if I was just imagining it since I wanted to see some results, or, because of that sensation the cream gives you when you put it on.

I considered a thought though… If someone has very sensitive skin, they might want to watch out for using this cream, as that initial sensation has to be caused by an ingredient that is somewhat of an irritant. My face came through it OK, but I had the sneaking suspicion that if my skin were more sensitive, I would have gotten irritated.

Although I don’t have much on the really positive to say about Freeze Moisturizer, it is a solid 30/100, which puts it above a lot of really crappy creams out there. In my opinion, however, you’d be better off going with a product from the Dermajuv Line.
